The plumage of the crested pigeon is mainly pale grey on the body, with a lighter shade underneath. Its head has an erectile crest of black feathers, which gives it its name. The wings and tail are darker grey, and the legs are pink. In general, its appearance is discreet and adapted to the arboreal environment in which it lives.
